Geordie Gordon

Last year I moved back to my hometown to live with my grandmother. I set up a little studio in the attic and turned a closet into a vocal booth.

As I travelled around the town, I was flooded with memories from growing up, every street and every building related to a formative moment in my life.

I set about writing my most autobiographical album to date. mining the depths of my brain for pivotal instances that made me who I am today. The songs began to flow out of my past, songs about the fantastic imagination of childhood, the power of discovering music and the isolation of a queer coming of age.

To me, songwriting is the most optimistic venture. Every time I create a song, I am building a piece of my future. With this record, I am holding teenage Geordie, as seen on the album cover, and carrying him with me as I step boldly into that future.
